Country of Origin: Australia

The aromatic tree of Eucalyptus belongs to the family Myrtaceae of the plant kingdom. It grows to a height of 150-180ft. This has a trunk that attains two-third of the total height of the plant. The leaves of the plant hang vertically or obliquely and appear leathery in texture. The flowers in the bud are covered with a cup-like structure.

Eucalyptus Oil is extracted by means of the steam distillation process from the dried leaves and twigs of the plant.

Uses of Eucalyptus Oil:

  • Eucalyptus Oil facilitates the relief of congestion and respiratory tract infections. For relief from congestion, mix a few drops in a steaming bowl of hot water and lean over it to inhale the aromatic vapors with a towel draped over the head and bowl for a few minutes. The eyes should be closed to prevent irritation. It has traditionally been used to relieve the discomforts associated with fatigue, headaches, colds, sinusitis, mucous congestion and asthma.
  • As a disinfecting air spray, Eucalyptus Essential Oil acts as a natural, anti-microbial, non-toxic air freshener that removes bacteria, viruses, and mold from the environment. Diluted with water, this spray can freshen the room and eliminate the body odors trapped in shoes and sports gear.
  • A surface cleaning agent can be made by combining Eucalyptus Oil with Peppermint Essential Oil & Tangerine Oil and then diluting the blend with water before using it on kitchen and bathroom surfaces.

Never put undiluted essential oil on your skin! For topical use, add 12 drops of essential oil to 30ml of Oleia Pure Oil (2% dilution), or 18 drops of essential oil to 30ml of Oleia Pure Oil (3% dilution).

Eucalyptus Blend/Help for Sinusitis:

Add 8 drops of Eucalyptus Oil, 4 drops Peppermint Oil, 4 drops Rosemary Oil to Oleia Pure Oil 50ml or other carrier oil. Shake well to mix oil thoroughly. Apply blended oil or lightly massage on affected areas.
